This evening I had the chance to have dinner with Laurie Beth Jones, author of the bestselling books, Jesus CEO and The Path. It was a blessing and a joy. She is incredible in sharing her leadership wisdom about the church and life. In her presentation to the General Commission on Communications, she talked about the importance of community and living faithfully together as the children of God.
"Without community... we cannot function the way Christ intended" Laurie Beth said.
Certainly.
The second set of nine lessons talk about our relationships to one another including celebrating those who are lost and then found, doing life together and embracing the unfamiliar. Christ clearly believed that faith is not a solo endeavor but includes all of us working together.
If we learn nothing from these lessons together, it should be that Christ does not intend for us to make this journey alone. Clearly... and this is not just about the Church. It is about any way that the Body lives, worship and serves together.
What a joy! What a privilege!
